Joining a yoga teacher training is one of the most life transforming experiences for most people. The truth is that a lot of the work has already happened by taking the decision to go to a training, not a class, not a weekend, not a retreat, but a few weeks long yoga teacher training. You are already committing to caring about you, creating the circumstances to be your focus and at the same time learn something new, challenge your body and mind, challenge some of your world views even. This training is an immersive experience of learning the depth of Yoga and becoming ready to pass it on to others. We are following Yoga in the light of the "Tantric Teachings", in other words, the teachings of embracing life to the fullest. Coming to one of our yoga teacher trainings in Greece will give you so much more than only a certificate to teach. It is the beginning of creating a healthy routine for your mind, body and soul.

Module: Vinyasa Yoga Foundations

Decode the structure and secrets of vinyasa flow

In this module you will be taught all the principles and key ideas of the structure of a vinyasa flow yoga class. You will learn how vinyasa came to life, to which extend it is based on tradition and how it has changed to serve in our modern lifes. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to grasp mentally these key ideas and principles, as well as experience them in your body, and bringing them to life. This module includes sequencing, allignment & adjustment, teaching skills, and the practice. For more information please read below in the specific categories.

Module: Yin Yoga Foundations

Explore Yin Yoga in depth • learn to guide students to deep relaxation

We place great emphasis on the high quality of our curriculum. We have specialised experts for the various fields of our yoga programme. Therefore we are proud to have TJ Maher from New York on board for the Yin Yoga module. He has been teaching Yin Yoga around the globe for many years. In the Yin Yoga module you will specifically deepen your knowledge and practical skills in all elementary areas to be able to teach Yin Yoga with confidence.

Module: Meditation & Pranayama

Learn to meditate and practice breath work

You have daily meditation and pranayama sessions, in which you will be guided through different styles of meditation. In this module you will also develop the skills to sit in meditation on your own, as well as ground your students at the beginning and/or end of class. You will also experience different pranayama (breathing techniques) at first completely guided and slowly stepping into self teaching mode in order to gain confidence to offer them to your own students.

Module: Teaching Methodology & Sequencing

Learn how to teach and develop skills to guide confidently

In this module you learn to safely design yoga classes for yourself and your future students. After completing this module you will be able to create your own sequences for your home practice or for teaching. You also get to explore the idea of teaching others, transmitting the knowledge you will acquire and inspiring these individuals through your teaching style and voice. You get to experiment with different teaching techniques that vary from simpler to more "advanced"/complicated until you find the teacher within, establishing your voice, and discovering the vast beauty of yoga language. Throughout teaching methodology there will be plenty of opportunity to practice guiding your fellow students/teachers, give/receive feedback and learn to accommodate your own and other's needs.

Module: Yoga Philosophy & History

Gain deep knowlegde about yoga & its roots.

History & Philosophy of Yoga. In this module you are exposed to key ideas about yoga through the centuries like the eight limbs, the yoga sutras, chakras and concepts like liberation and karma. We teach a vast majority of these topics in the light of the Tantra tradition. The idea is that we already hold within us all the beauty, all the divine knowledge, all the love and acceptance that we are looking for. By completing this course your understanding of yoga will change. It will expand from a fitness practice/movement, to seeing yoga as a lifestyle, as a journey, as a whole. This expansion will help you carry the knowledge of yoga off the mat, into your daily life. This way you get to understand why we practice, how it can effect us in life, how to live a more fulfilling life, how to thrive and how to tranform your body into a sanctuary for your soul.

Module: Yoga Anatomy

Understand the Anatomy of the body and Yoga Postures

In this module you get to learn all the bones in the body by heart, all the muscle names and everything in between. hehe, no! I'm kidding! you will only be asked to memorise a few basic ones. You are not becoming a doctor, you are becoming a yoga teacher. So, in this module you will learn what muscles you need to prepare by lengthening or strengthening for your yoga classes. You learn what needs to stay engaged in order to keep you safe and when relaxing specific parts is necessary in order to breathe better, to switch to a more rest and restore mode or simply support yourself in sleeping more easily. You will also learn what is involved in movements and how to make different parts of the body work in your favour, instead of working against you during practice. You will be amazed by some fascinating facts that you will come across about the human body and get to understand how it is all connected. In yoga anatomy, you will stil be exposed to many anatomical terms but the focus is on keeping yourself and your students safe when you attempt complicated postures, how to make sure you and they are warm enough to attempt specific shapes. You will also be exposed to other key concepts that will keep you moving healthily until a (hopefully much) older age.

Module: Self Practice

Improve and refine your practice for a safe home practice

Imagine how your body will feel after a month of daily practice. You will probably be stronger (physically and mentally), your body will feel more flexible and your mind will have the capacity to stay focused for longer periods of time. You will feel yourself improving in so many levels through breathing properly, through sessions of self reflection or journaling after practice. You have a few weeks of diving deep into all aspects of yourself utilising the guidance given to you. Now multiply this to the rest of your life... except with your own ability to guide yourself. In this teacher training you will learn to plan your own classes and this way you will be able to self practice, all on your own, wherever you are, regardless of how much time you have. You will always have the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to create a mindful moment for yourself. This means that you will be able to carry the benefits of the daily sessions (you have during the course) to your days after completion, giving you the chance to continue to evolve on all levels. You can always, given there is enough space for a yoga mat, have the opportunity to move, meditate, self reflect and keep on evolving without needing to book or pay for classes. You also be able to safely attend other guided classes if you want and really get the most out of them. Mindfulness will no longer be a word to you, but a lifestyle.

Living Ancient Yoga Tradition. We at INEAYOGA are following the teachings of the Non-Dual Tantra Yoga Tradition. The roots of which are growing for over a thousand years and will be passed on to you. Module: Alignment & Adjustment

Learn how to safly and correctly adjust students in postures

The Alignment & Adjustment module provides a solid understanding of each pose/asana that is commonly practiced in yoga. You will first be exposed to some of the most widely known as "correct" allignments in vinyasa as well as practice adjusting each other to best embody the principles of each pose. You will also learn how anatomical variation plays a role and how a gentle movement or correction can completely transform yours and your students' experience in the posture. Furthermore, there will be an emphasis of how a different intension can bring you to practice the same posture in a completely new way, for example how alligment in yin yoga is so different to allignment in vinyasa. You will leave this course with a clear understanding of what suits you best and how you can encourage your students to get the most out of their practice too. You will also learn how to verbally and with hands on adjustments best bring your students to the most beneficial allignment for them.

What an amazing experience ! I have just returned from my 1 week retreat at INEA Yoga. It is hard to describe how special this retreat was. Athina, Cedric and TJ are beautiful people and great teachers. They made us feel so welcome and it was like spending a week with a happy family. Everything was so well organised from the airport pick up to the amazing boat trip up the west coast of Corfu. The food was amazing thanks to Apollonia, Abi and Tamara. Further the accommodation was spotless with daily cleaning and smiles from Silvia ! The Yoga facilities are beautiful, there are outside areas and also inside Shalas where you can do yoga. We even did yoga and meditation at the beach. It can’t get much better than that. This might sound a bit cheesy and I am completely honest in saying that this experience and the beautiful people that I met on this retreat have had and will continue having a major impact in my life. My heart is filled with love, gratitude and joy!

For anyone who isn't sure whether to book a retreat with Inea Yoga - BOOK NOW!!! It was the most wonderful week I've ever spent: from the gorgeous homely accommodation to the incredible food and some of the most divine yoga and meditation sessions I've experienced (plus golden sunshine and daily sea swims). Incredible what a difference just 5 days at Inea yoga could do! I would highly recommend this beautiful retreat centre to anyone looking to go on a retreat, training or a place for hosting. It’s a beautiful, happy, vibrant location in the wonderful island of Corfu. Athena & Cedric who run the retreat centre are just wonderful, warm human beings. You are made to feel welcome and cared for, food is great, accommodation comfy, 2 wonderful dogs to cuddle 🤗 and 2 minutes from a beautiful beach. Can’t recommend enough!! Did a week long yoga retreat in October, it was my first one & it was exactly what I needed. Athina & Cedric are amazing .. I wasn’t feeling good the first, they not only called the doctor for me but also drove me there & moved things around so I could have my own room until I felt better!! Seriously just such a beautiful place to go & be. Not to mention the property & island are beautiful. Felt so at home the whole time & definitely learnt lots!

Cedric and Athena created the most magical retreat place possible. It is two minutes from the beach and two minutes from a traditional Greek taverna where you can taste all the best the Greek cuisine has to offer. I highly recommend retreating at INEA YOGA. It's magic.

Inea yoga is just incredible! I came last year having never done a retreat before, and fell in love with it so came back again this year. I’ve also been recommending it to all my friends and have brought one along! Athina and Cedric are gorgeous. They create such a warm, open atmosphere. They love what they do and it’s infectious. And there’s delicious Greek food and a good mix of yoga, optional activities and time on the beautiful beaches. I look forward to coming back again!

Athina, Cedric and their team have created a nurturing haven of calm at Inea Yoga. The location is idyllic - with beautiful gardens and just a few minutes walk from an unspoilt beach. The rooms are a good size with large balconies and spotlessly clean thanks to Sylvia. I joined the walking and yoga retreat which was a great mix, also including a boat trip and making a mala necklace. The week was an ideal way to deepen my practice and meet new friends. I hope to return.

This is such a beautiful space. Everything is made with so much love and it’s a really relaxing atmosphere. The Yoga teachers are extremely kind and you feel much welcomed in their „family“. The whole centre is tastefully designed, the rooms get cleaned daily and meals are freshly cooked every day. The chef did an amazing job in catering for special dietary requests as well. Communicating with Athina and Cedric, the owners of the Yoga School, was easy and they are always happy to help you. I enjoyed every single Yoga class and can highly recommend to stay here and participate in one of their retreats. The beach is just two minutes away, lots of restaurants as well and a bus to Corfu town departs twice a day. I would definitely come back here!

There aren't really enough words to express the joy and sweetness of being in this space. Cedric & Athina bring full heart to all experiences here, alongside a team who feel like family. Working with them to facilitate a retreat experience for students/ guests felt effortless from start to finish ~ and the usual stresses that one may feel in the logistical parts of curating such an event felt so deliciously supported by their presence and willingness to collaborate. Couldn't recommend a space, or a team more highly and I very much plan to be back again, and again, and again! :)

This yoga retreat is a hidden gem. The moment you arrive you are embraced with love and sincerity. Athina and Cedric are totally committed to their craft with a beautifully organised and balanced retreat allowing participants to reconnect with themselves and others in a safe and un-pressured environment. Yummy and healthy is what a yogi needs – we serve freshly home made delicious vegi/vegan food. Breakfast with typical greek specialities, as well as fresh fruit salad and porridge bowls. We want you to have a stress free time, just like you deserve. Simply book an airport shuttle with George, our neighbour and a local driver. He speaks fluently english and will wait for you at the arrival area with a sign with "INEAYOGA". You will receive a link to book your shuttle just after your booking. Please pay him directly (55€ in cash / one way). The shuttle (and costs) can be shared with fellow participants.

Cancellation Policy

Policy & Safety Guidelines

We understand that cancelling is the last thing you want. However, re-arranging things has never been easier. If things end up changing at the last minute, longer than 30 days from the start date, we offer you an 18 month long voucher that you can utilise towards any of our other retreats or services or a full refund. For cancellations less than 30 days, but more than 7 days before starting date, we only keep the deposit (30%), or you can choose the voucher option too. Please understand if you cancel less than 7 days in advance, we need to charge you the full amount. This policy applies from January 2022.

We follow the neccessary government restriction rules regarding the corona pandemic (travel.gov.gr). We want to point out: in our spaces are all people welcome! For safety reasons, at the beginning of a training or retreat, you need to provide a negative corona test (rapid/antigen/self test/PCR) not older than 72 hours. Thank you for your help.

FAQ Yoga Teacher Training

What do I need to bring? Here is a pack list for yoga teacher trainings.

Yoga mat, yoga clothes, swim gear, beach attire and protection, warm socks and jumper for early morning/evening and a water bottle. We have all yoga props like blocks, bolsters, belts, and etc. Bring a notebook and pen to reflect on your experience.

Is there a sandy beach close to the retreat center?

Yes, there are multiple sandy beaches in the area. It’s only one minute to the closest beach called Lakkiess. Only a 20 minute walk away is the beautiful Issos Beach, with a big nature reserve just next to it.

Do I have to share my accommodation? Do you offer private or single rooms?

We offer both shared and private accommodation. Private accommodation guarantees you a private bedroom with a double bed. This can be either a studio-like room with a smoll kitchen and balcony, or an apartment-like accommodation where you have your personal private bedroom and share the big kitchen and balcony with max. one other person.
In our shared accommodation you have a shared twin bedroom with two single beds. You share this room with a person of the same sex and also share a bathroom with a maximum of two people from the same apartment.

Can I come to your yoga school earlier or stay longer?

Yes, you can book extra nights with breakfast included with us please write to us at: andrianacorfu (at) gmail (dot)com We actually recommend taking a bit more time for your journey, because often in yoga retreats many things can happen on different levels, to have time to integrate those changes is a very good idea. Let things first sink before jumping back into daily life. We have many drop-in classes you can join at days where there is no retreat.

Do you have Massages or Spa treatments?

We provide massages from our in-house massage therapist Jenny. She has over a decade of experience and offers a variety of treatments. You can directly request to have a daily massage when you book on the website and even save a little money. How does it sound?

Who is your audience? What kind of people join the trainings?

People who join us have a passion in common: yoga. We share similar life values and an attitude of an open mind and honesty. Therefore, it's really not about age, gender or the fitness level. We have people join us from different parts of the world and most participants are between 20-45 years of age, but we have some beautiful souls over 50 who join us regularly. Everyone who comes in peace is welcome at our yoga base in Corfu.

Can I go on my own to a YTTC?

Yes, absolutely! Many people choose to come on their own. It’s an opportunity to meet like minded people and make new friends. We got life-long friends through yoga trainings and retreats and even Athina and Cedric met on their first yoga teacher training in India. Isn't that a good point?

What is included in the YTTC Course package?

Daily yoga and meditation classes, all lectures, workshops and teaching classes, breakfast (for some trainings also lunch, please check on the detail page) & dinner, accommodation and teaching materials.

How many students are on each training course?

Most Retreats we host have between 8-22 people. The maximum capacity of our house is 29 beds. But we also have some other guests that are not joining a Training and just spending time on their own, diving deep into yoga or just enjoying holidays. An avarage course has 12 people.

Will there be free wifi / internet and cell phone coverage at the retreat site?

Yes, free wifi is available on the property and in all rooms. There is mobile coverage as well, but the quality of reception may vary depending on your provider since we are in a smaller town. We have a 100mbit line (for the geeks under us).

What dietary options do you offer?

All of our meals offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options. If you have specific dietary needs or allergies please contact us ahead of time. Most groceries we use are from local farming.

What other services do you offer?

    Do I have to participate in everything on the schedule?

    Well, in a training environment, we expect you to participate in all official lessons – in order to fullfil the requirments of the Yoga Alliance 200-hour attandance. Nevertheless it's up to you, if you decide to do the training simply for your self-education and you don't want a certificate from Yoga Alliance, you can make it into a retreat that just suits you.

    Do you offer any excursions, tours or trips?

    Yes, from short hiking trips to long trips as well as boat trips to different locations on the island including some time to swim and enjoy the beach. Boat trips have extra fees which we will note in the details section.

    What are your Covid policies at the retreat? Should I be vaccinated? Wear a mask?

    We follow the nessecary government regulations – please keep yourself up to date for some recent changes. No vaccine required. We care about everybody's health and ask participants to be responsible. We don't want to make it into a political topic. We appreciate customers that provide a negative covid test (rapid or PCR) on arrival not older than 72 hours, but it's not a requirement. We ask that you attend the courses without any infectious diseases.

    You have two options to arrive: by plane or ferry.
    There are two ferry ports, one in Lefkimmi in the South (closer to our Yoga Centre) and one in Corfu Town.

    Arrival by airplane
    The closest airport here is Corfu International Airport: CFU.
    You can book a taxi it with us or grab a local taxi on your own. Fares tend to be higher if catching a taxi at the airport/port but should not be higher than 60 euros one way. Email us to arrange a shuttle/taxi mail us here
    You can pre book the taxi with us online, but you will pay the taxi driver in cash in person. It is 55 euros (one way). If you get a taxi please share this location:
    Arrival by bus

    Take the Greenline B5 Agios Georgios South. The bus stops in front of our place, Adriana Apartments. Otherwise tell the bus driver to let you exit at Kafesas (its a well known Taverna just next to our Yoga School) For more information about times check here: greenbuses.gr Routes change seasonally.

    Can a friend/partner/spouse join me to stay there but not participate at the training?

    Of course, in this case you would need to choose the single room option and advise us via email that you will have someone join you that will not participate in the retreat/course. You will get a double bed and charged an extra fee for your guest. If your guest wants to join any of the meals there will be an extra cost. Your friend or partner is more than welcome to join you on this journey.

    What is the weather like?

    All of the months, except April, allow for swimming because of the beautiful water temperature. We have two main seasons:
    Our peak season is from June to September where we rarely have any rain and the temperature is between 28-32 degrees Celsius.
    During our off season from November to April there is a higher chance of rain with an average temperature range of 20-16 degrees Celsius. We wrote an article about the different months and their atmosphere... please read it here .

    Do you offer private Yoga sessions at INEA•YOGA in Corfu?

    Yes, most of our teachers are available for private yoga classes. Our teachers are certified with Yoga Alliance. Extra fees apply. Please write us an email or ask us directly.

    Which language will the instructions be in?

    English, we also speak German and Greek as second languages (but not in the yoga group classes or teaching lectures).

    What is Yin Yoga?

    Yin is a very slow yoga practice with only seated and lying down postures that heals and regenerates the body and calms the nervous system. It's a passive practice where muscle tension is released and the focus is on relaxation. Yin yoga is a compliment to other more active forms. It is a very slow-paced passive practice focused on releasing tension, stretching, and relaxation with the goal of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. The postures are mostly in seated or lying down positions (asanas) that are held for a longer period of time than other styles which heals and regenerates the body and calms the nervous system.

    Do you have drop-in classes at INEA•YOGA school Corfu?

    Yes, during the season we have daily drop in yoga classes here in Corfu. Please find the schedule (changing times during season) on the website or write us an email.

    Do you provide yoga mats?

    Yes, we provide premium professional yoga mats from Manduka (pro 6mm) free of charge for participants in our retreats & trainings. We also sell mats here.

    Is the training suitable for beginners in meditation?

    The answer is a clear yes. Our meditations are all guided and everybody can join.

    What is a sound bath?

    A Sound Bath is a very unique experience, especially the first time. As a studied music teacher and pianist, Athina is devote to sound and music. With 7 crystal bowls tuned to the frequencies of the 7 chakras, Athina plays a sound concert of a very special kind, flooding the whole body with vibrations. By stroking and painting those bowls, they start to vibrate and create a smoothing sound in their frequencies tuned in 440 hz. Many testify of wonderful experiences during these sessions. It is said that the vibrations release energetic (emotional) blockages and have a healing and harmonizing effect on the body and mind. It is each time a marvelous experience, but come and witness it for yourself.

    What is a tibetan singing bowl sound healing treatment?

    Sound treatments are here to help you release tension, work through blockages and connect with yourself in a deeper level. During these sound treatments the practitioner utilises the healing aspects of ancient Tibetan techniques and brings them to your body through vibrating singing bowls in the form of waves. The waves, as created by Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls, are played with clear intensions and directly from the heart. Sound is such a powerful media, as tradition has shown and modern research has come to support, especially when practitioner and patient/client are working towards the same goal or releasing, connecting, clearing, having left concepts and words outside the treatment room and allowing the vibrations to flow.
